Throw Blanket // Dyson // Google Home // Moscow Mule Mugs // Kitchen Aid Mixer // Diffuser // Storage Containers // Crocket Pot // Keurig //  Bottle Holder // Popcorn Popper // Personalized Mugs

I was laughing at myself making this list because I got super excited that this Dyson is almost 50% off, like, wayyyy too excited over a vacuum. But yes, I am the definition of homebody. We all either know one, or are one, am I right? My ideal night is popping some popcorn with the kids, and curling up in the couch with a cozy blanket and watching a movie. Everything on this list is something that I either have, want, or really need!

The throw blanket is the best quality, and on super sale. The popcorn popper would make the cutest stocking stuffer, and so would the personalized mugs. The Keurig is so practical, and the diffuser is pretty enough to put in any room of your house. And how neat is this bottle holder? I hope this list helps you find the perfect gift!

Slippers // Mug // Candle // Pajamas // Necklace // Scarf // Gloves // Hat // Lip Collection //  Earrings // Ring Set

Being both a mom who has kids in school and a teacher, I feel that I am well versed in the area of “teacher gifts”. Personally, I love to give (and get 😉 ) gift cards – Starbucks and Nordstrom are my favorite, and I always give Target gift cards to the kid’s teachers.

If you are not like me, and are aiming to be a little more personal, I’ve compiled a list of a few things that are versatile but still have that personal touch. I for one, would love to receive any item on this list. Note, if you are going to give a candle, it’s got to be a good one. The Nest candles above are the best, burn clean, and last so long. I always appreciate a funny mug (or wine glass 😉 ). Gloves and a hat are also nice since we spend so much time outside (think recess, door duty, etc.). I like to keep spares at school. Pajamas are always fun to receive as a gift because I never buy them for myself or think to ask for them. I also love when my students include a handwritten note or their families holiday photo card.

From my most recent box, I kept these jeans. How great are they? Dark color, a little distressing, annnnd the perfect length for my petite frame. I can NEVER find denim that I don’t need to hem so of course I had to keep these. I am already planning to wear them with this sweater and this top.

Will you try Stitch Fix this holiday season?

Make the Most of Black Friday Sales

Black Friday shopping can be super stressful. To say that stores are crowded is putting it lightly. I used to love going to the mall, and waiting in ridiculous lines, and then leaving very satisfied that I got all my shopping done. In my old age though, I prefer to spend it in front of the computer screen.

However you choose to shop on Black Friday, here are some tips to make the most of it:

  1. Make a list of what you “intend” to buy otherwise you can go a little crazy. I am the return queen, and always buy more then I need with the intention of returning some items when I decide what I really want to keep. If you are not good at returning, make a list do that you don’t purchase more than you actually need. Which brings me to my second point…
  2. Make a budget. I like to allocate certain amounts of money for different people, and then I just search for items within my budget.
  3. Browse ahead of time. I like to put things that I want into my online “shopping cart” and then I keep them there until they go on sale.
  4. Don’t buy something just because it is on sale – see my first two points of making a list and a budget. You will over spend and you will buy things you don’t really need if you do this. I guarantee you! If you do see something that you love, snap a picture of it and send it to your hubby/mom/mother in law. They are probably out shopping for you as well. 😉
  5. Read product reviews. You may want to shell out the extra money if a product works better or lasts longer than it’s less expensive counterpart.

Gift Guide for Him

1. Scarf // 2. Hat // 3. Watch // 4. Duffel Bag // 5. Athletic Shoes // 6. Vest //

7. Bluetooth Speaker // 8. Headphones // 9. Slippers // 10. Sweater // 11. Joggers // 12. Pajama Set

Do you struggle with buying gifts for your spouse/significant other/dad/brother? No, just me? Well, I never have any idea what to get my husband for any holiday. He offers up no suggestions so he usually ends up with a new shirt or sweater. I have actually gotten him Bose speakers before (still uses them), slippers (a surprise hit), a vest (so practical), and a watch (that I am proud to say he wears everyday). I also tend to buy him active wear or comfy clothes that he can wear for lounging around the house because he won’t buy those things for himself.

Now how great is this duffel bag? If your husband is anything like mine, he is probably not taking the time to purchase a decent travel bag (mine still uses a North Face backpack). 😉 I think this bag would be perfect for him because he takes a lot of quick overnight work trips, and he needs something he can easily carry on a plane or throw in a trunk.

These headphones are a must if your husband does any sort of working out. They stay in place and the sound quality is excellent. You also can’t go wrong with a good pair of gym shoes, or an everyday watch. And every guy needs a half-zip pullover that can be dressed up or down.

I am also loving these workout pants and this fleece pullover!

My Christmas Wishlist

1. Pullover // 2. Boots // 3. Sneakers // 4. Joggers // 5. Lounge Pants // 6. Hoodie //

7. Lounge Top // 8. Necklace // 9. Earrings // 10. Scarf // 11. Sweater // 12. Sweater

Everything on this my Christmas Wishlist is something that I would LOVE (obviously) to receive this Holiday Season. I have a few of these items in my shopping cart, and it’s hard not to just pull the trigger and purchase myself. I own these Lounge Pants and love them so much that I want them in another color. I am especially hoping to receive this cozy pullover in Birch White and these sneakers in green (and pink for spring!). Yes, I’m already planning for warm weather. Is it spring yet? 😉

You can’t go wrong with cozy lounge wear or a beautiful sweater. A pair of fabulous boots or a cashmere scarf are always something I love to get but hate to spend the money on myself. Jewelry is also something that I never buy for myself so it is fun to receive as a gift. This necklace is simple enough to be worn everyday, and the earrings could be dressed up or down.

Every piece on my Christmas Wishlist is so versatile, and I’m sure that any lady in your life would love to receive something on it! What is on your holiday wishlist? Do you have any awesome gift ideas? I would love to hear them!

Give the Gift of Style With Stitch Fix

Have you ever tried Stitch Fix? With the holidays rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about the perfect gift for everyone on our list. Each year, I struggle with what to buy for friends and family members. I know that 90% of the gifts that I buy are going to get returned yet purchasing gift cards to a store seems so impersonal. This year, I decided that I am going to get (a little) creative, and give the gift of Stitch Fix for all those “hard to buy for” people in my life.

So what exactly is Stitch Fix? It is an online styling service that delivers clothing and accessories hand picked for you directly to your door. Each Stitch Fix box contains five items for you to try on at home. You keep what you love, and send back the rest using the prepaid USPS envelope. Shipping and returns are always free. They even offer exchanges!

Don’t have time to shop for yourself this holiday season (I mean, who does!)? Try Stitch Fix for yourself!

There is normally a $25 styling fee which is subtracted from anything that you end up purchasing but Stitch Fix is waiving that $25 styling fee for Joggers and Gym Shoes readers!

Stitch Fix carries so many of my favorite brands – Joie, Ella Moss, Paige, Splendid, Rails, and Free People. They also carry a lot of their own brands so you will probably receive a few pieces unique to them that you could not find in stores. Who doesn’t love surprises?! 😉

If you’ve never tried Stitch Fix before, it can take a couple tries before you find a stylist that meets all of your needs and understands your style. It took me two times, and a change of stylist, before I loved what I was getting. That can be frustrating though. You have high expectations and then you are underwhelmed.

Here are some tips to get the most out of your Stitch Fix:

  1. Be very detailed when filling out your profile. Make sure you list brands that you like along with sizes you typically wear in those brands. If your sizes change, make sure you update your profile! I forgot to do this after I lost my baby weight but luckily you can exchange items that you want to keep for different sizes. Returns and exchanges are always free!
  2. Write a detailed note to your stylist each time you schedule a Fix. Don’t just say, “I like sweaters”, be very specific in the type of sweater style, color, etc. Do you have an event coming up? Let your stylist know about it so she can find you something special.
  3. Leave feedback when you checkout. The more detail the better. If the armholes on that shirt were cut too small, or if you weren’t crazy about the pattern but loved the fit, put it in the feedback.
  4. Link to a Pinterest style board and keep it updated! This is the absolute best way to really let your stylist know what looks you want to emulate.

Holiday Gift Guide for Mom

Robe // Pajama Set // Slippers // Fresh Lip Balm

Tula Skin Care (20% off your first order!) // Initial Necklace // Gloves // Scarf

Today starts my Holiday Gift Guide Series! Each week, I will post a new Holiday Gift Guide. These can be easily found from my “Holiday Gift Guide” tab in the menu at the top of my page.

I’m starting with a Gift Guide for mom because my Mom is my rock/my best friend/my inspiration/who I aspire to be. So I absolutely love holiday shopping for her. First, I know that she will love anything I get her. Second, she is super easy to buy for. But last, and most importantly, she deserves so much more than I could ever buy her. My mom’s gift is always the one I put the most thought into (sorry, Dean!). She does so much for me and for the kids, that I always think long and hard about her gift – even though no gift could possibly tell her how grateful I am for her.

When I think of the perfect gift for my Mom (or any mom), I think of something pampering like the softest robe or the coziest scarf, the freshest skincare, or the absolute BEST lip balm. I know my Mom always loves a good pair of slippers, and what Mom wouldn’t want a necklace with her grandkids (or kids) initials? My Mom is not the type of person to spend a lot of money on herself, so I try to buy her something that she would never splurge on for herself.

I always have a hard time narrowing down what I want to get my Mom. I usually buy a few items, and then return what I don’t end up giving her. I find new things, change my mind, feel like I need to give her something better. Currently, one of her gifts is sitting in my closet, and has been since July.

What is your favorite gift to buy for your Mom? I’d love to hear your ideas!

I hope you will follow along with my weekly gift guides, and use Joggers and Gym Shoes for your holiday inspiration.

Sara
